Types of Gas Stove

There are three main types of gas stove and we sell a good selection of each of them. See which type is most suitable for your requirements and then see what we have to offer.

If you don’t see what you want please contact us, we will try our best to meet your requirements.

Conventional flue gas stoves

A gas stove with a conventional flue has a single outlet where the waste products of combustion leave the stove. This normally means that a conventional gas stove will need an existing chimney which is suitably lined to prevent fumes escaping.

The room in which the gas stove is installed needs to have enough ventilation to supply the stove with the air needed for combustion.

Balanced flue gas stoves

A balanced flue gas stove does not require extra ventilation to the room. The air needed for combustion is drawn in from outside the building through the flue. The waste products of combustion leave through a separate compartment in the same flue. This means that the gas stove is more efficient and you don’t have to have a cold draught coming into the room from outside.

A balanced flue stove can be situated on any outside wall or even with the flue going out through the roof. If you want your stove situated in an existing fireplace, you can have a special flue liner up the chimney to act as a balanced flue.

Flueless gas stoves

Flueless Gas stoves can go almost anywhere where there is a gas supply and adequate ventilation. They don’t need a flue because the waste gases are cleaned before leaving the stove. Additional room ventilation is required for the stove to be operated safely.
