You can pay in cash, by cheque, debit card or credit card. Please note that we have to charge 2% to cover the fees for credit card transactions. Goods remain the property of the supplier until paid for in full.

Delivery

When a stove is fitted locally, the fitter usually picks the stove up from stock in our warehouse. For installations further afield, we make a delivery charge. Some companies take a profit from their delivery charges, but we only charge you what it costs us: these stoves are heavy!

It is your responsibility to choose a product of appropriate fuel type, chimney needs and dimensions.

Installation

Once we have delivered your product, you are responsible for installation costs.

Stoves Direct specialises in supplying stoves and fireplaces at commonsense prices. We do not offer a fitting service, but we can help you find an installer. We do our best to help you choose suitable installers, but we cannot be held responsible for the actions of third parties.

Our Returns Policy

We strive to supply goods in excellent condition. Stoves and fireplaces are both heavy and fragile, and need careful handling until installed.

We will replace any item found defective or damaged before delivery or during unloading. This is in addition to your manufacturer’s guarantee.

We cannot accept return of products which are damaged after delivery where this is due to the negligence of the customer, the customer’s installation contractor or any other third party.

Products that are not defective may be returned in original condition and packaging, but will be subject to a handling charge of 20% of the product’s cost.

Distance Selling

These regulations do not apply to sales in a retail shop. See Our Returns Policy (above) for sales from our shop.

Sales other than in our shop are covered by the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 (UK Law Directive 97/7/EC), which protect you by providing a 7 working day "cooling off" period after the product has been delivered.

A customer has the option to cancel any order between the time of placing it and 7 working days after delivery (the 7 working day cancellation period starts the day after the goods were received).

You have the right to receive a refund within 30 days of cancellation.

In the event of your cancellation of the order, we will make a deduction from your refund to cover the cost of collecting the goods. Alternatively, you may arrange the return of the goods to us at your own cost.

You must retain the packaging. Carriers will not accept consignments without appropriate packaging.

The goods must not have been fitted, installed or used in any way.

The goods must be unmarked and free from blemishes of any kind, and returned in a saleable condition.

Any accompanying products ordered specifically for use with the product must be made available for collection by us or be returned by you at the same time.

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2006 (WEEE)

Each EU Member State now has a legal obligation to minimise the disposal of WEEE in landfill sites.

The broad aim of the WEEE regulations is to address the environmental impacts of electrical and electronic equipment when it reaches the end of its life.

We all have a responsibility to contributing to the reuse, recycling and other forms of recovery of WEEE under these Regulations.

Over 75% of waste electrical goods end up in landfill, where lead and other toxins contained in the electrical goods can cause soil and water contamination which can lead to negative effects on human health and the environment.

Stoves Direct Ltd offer our local customers free in store take back on a like for like basis when you purchase a new product from us. For our other customers we offer a free take back service again on a like for like basis. When you order a product from us please ask for details regarding both of these services.
You can return your WEEE to us within 28 days of your purchase.

Electrical and Electronic Equipment that was made after 13th August 2005 should display the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol on the packaging or product. The purpose of the symbol is to encourage householders to dispose of their WEEE separately from household waste.
